The executive director provides leadership for AWSA operations to ensure that our mission is accomplished in the most effective manner possible. The executive director aligns association resources and practices to support member priorities; is the liaison between the association’s board of directors and all association employees; and is the liaison between AWSA and government, associations and other key stakeholders impacting education in Wisconsin. Jim joined AWSA in 1994. Since that time he has served as director of government relations (1994-98), director of member services (1998-2000), associate executive director (2000-08), and executive director (2008-present). His efforts are inspired by the amazing work done each day by school leaders throughout our state.

Kelly Meyers joined the AWSA staff in July of 2008. Prior to that, she served as the principal of Verona Area High School for fourteen years and has twenty-one years of experience as an educator, including sixteen years in administration. During her tenure as a principal, she served AWSA in numerous capacities including president. Kelly posseses a “K-12 personality”, positive outlook, strong work ethic, and an appreciation for state level service.

Tina Hogle joined the AWSA staff when she moved to Wisconsin in 2005. She lived most of her life in the Capital District area of New York State, and worked recently for the New York State Council of School Superintendents. Prior to that she spent several years working as a social worker with the frail elderly and raising her three sons with her husband. In addition to her experience working with NY administrators, she has a love of education instilled by her father, who was an elementary school principal, and her mother, who was a teacher.

Allison is our newest staff member, she joined us in May 2009. She will take a hands-on approach to making the member experience on our website the best it can possibly be. She has a lot of fresh, new ideas that will take AWSA in a new direction with technological integration. Allison is a recent graduate of UW-Whitewater with a double major in Public Relations and Multimedia-Digital Arts.

Kathy has been with AWSA for seventeen years. Kathy's keen eye for details and willingness to embrace change have made her an indispensable force with all of AWSA's professional development programs. She also designs all of AWSA's professional development materials. Kathy supports Jim Lynch in his role as Executive Director and also manages the legal services program.

Donna has worked with AWSA for nineteen years. She is the heart and soul of our organization, keeping staff sane with her positive outlook, sense of humor, and willingness to always lend a hand. Donna keeps track of AWSA/WFEA accounts payable and receivable, banking, audit oversight, payroll, and benefits for AWSA, SAA, and WASC staff. She is involved with all aspects of AWSA and WFEA budgets and finances.

Robin Herring is the friendly voice on the phone when you contact AWSA, as well as the person behind the smooth management of the association's operational details. She works with committees on meetings, conference calls, and materials for conferences and workshops. She also keeps us in running order with supplies and maintenence of the building and equipment that make us operational. Robin's training is in elementary education and she maintains her teaching licensure.

Tom was AWSA's executive director from 1999-2008. With a tremendous understanding of the profession derived from his years as a superintendent, principal, and teacher, Tom's leadership in his tenure led to the association's sustained membership growth, an increase inthe number and quality of professional development offerengs, the institution of new programs for aspiring and new administrators, and a solid financial base. Tom continues to serve AWSA as emeritus executive director in a variety of roles.

Chuck is responsible for guiding AWSA in its early days and laying the groundwork for the association that serves administrators today. He served as executive director from 1971 to 1995 and shepherded AWSA through a major consolidation, the puchase of our building, development of the Wisconsin Foundation of Educational Administration, the legal service program and services that expanded and changed with the changing roles and expectiations of school adminsitration. Chuck continues to serve AWSA as an advisor, editor and committee member.
